EVENT INFO
Plans are well in hand for the NZIGP Legends of Speed meeting celebrating David Oxton – being held at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park on January 25-26th next year.
The event kicks off on Friday 24th January with a Race Car Test Day organised by Hampton Downs. Documentation and scrutineering will be available on the Friday before the meeting starts on Saturday.
On Saturday 25th, gates will open at 07:30 and qualifying will start at 08:30. There will be demonstration laps of vehicles associated with David along with some of the other drivers he competed against.
Racing commences after lunch on Saturday and during the afternoon, there will be an autograph session where fans can take time to meet with David and the other Legends of NZ Motorsport who will be in attendance.Saturday evening sees the Celebratory Dinner to be held in the Hampton Downs pavilion.
Tickets to this will be available shortly – and with a capacity of 200, will be sure to sell out.
Racing resumes at 08:30 on Sunday 26th January and continues through to approximately 5pm. Again, during the day there will be demonstration laps and displays of significant cars associated with David’s career.
